№ 02 · The Origin

A simple realisation
with a large answer.

When Neha Shukla's daughter, Vihaa, turned six, baby products stopped working. Her days now meant school, playgrounds, sweat, dust, and pollution. Adult products still felt wrong — and often were.

She searched the market and found what millions of Indian mothers already knew and had silently accepted: nothing existed for this age. A child too old for baby care, too young for adult products — with no brand willing to serve her.

The research that followed confirmed the intuition at scale: over 240 million children aged 5–14 in India are in this exact position. Nearly 1 in 2 are physically active most days. 72% of their urban mothers read full ingredient labels — and find no transparent, stage-appropriate options.

Kratibella Purecare was incorporated to build what didn't exist — starting with Little Gator, and with ambitions for a multi-brand kids and youth personal care platform.

What "Kratibella" Means

Created
Beautiful.

Kratifrom Sanskrit Kṛti — creation, craft, purposeful action.
bellafrom Latin & Italian — beautiful.

Together: "created beautiful" — a reflection of our founding conviction that products made with intention and integrity are, by definition, the most beautiful ones.

One mother.
One daughter.
One grandmother.

Kratibella is family-made in the deepest sense. The wisdom of a grandmother, the conviction of a mother, the truth-telling of a daughter — three generations of one family, in service of every other family.

Archana Shukla

Dadi · Mentor & Anchor

Vihaa's grandmother. The company's quiet ballast. A lifetime of household wisdom about Indian skin, Indian hair, Indian weather — the knowledge that no biochemistry textbook contains. The grandmother who remembered which oil to use after the playground, which to use before school, and why both mattered.

Every Little Gator formula passes through her quiet judgement before it passes anyone else's. The Dadi test, we call it. It is the most important quality gate we have.

"The traditions that lasted are the ones that worked."

Vihaa Shukla

Daughter · The Reason

The six-year-old who outgrew baby care and had nowhere to go. Vihaa is not a marketing device. She is the literal reason Kratibella exists — the actual child whose actual needs went unanswered by every shelf in every store.

She is the most honest critic on the founding team. She does not care about ingredient lists or competitive positioning. She cares whether the shampoo stings her eyes, whether the lotion feels sticky, whether the bottle is easy to hold with wet hands. If she says no, the answer is no.

"It has to feel good. Or I won't use it."

№ 04 Timing

Why this is the
right moment.

Category is early. Demand is real. Timing is right. Five forces in alignment — none of which existed five years ago.

  1. i.

    The ingredient-aware parent has arrived.

72% of urban Indian parents read full ingredient labels and prefer specialised kids' products over repurposed baby or adult alternatives. This consumer didn't exist a decade ago.

  2. ii.

    25M+ new consumers every year.

25 million children enter the 5–12 age bracket annually — creating a continuously replenishing addressable market. This is structural, not cyclical.

  3. iii.

    No category leader exists.

Baby care is saturated. Kids (5–12) care is fragmented. The white space for a science-led, trust-first brand is open — but not indefinitely.

  4. iv.

    D2C infrastructure has matured.

Digital-first brand building in India is now capital-efficient. A credible brand can reach its audience before legacy players react.

  5. v.

    India's formulation capacity is world-class.

Domestic contract manufacturers now match international quality — enabling a homegrown brand to compete on quality, not just price.
